Adrian Belew is a trailblazing guitarist and multi-instrumentalist whose fearless curiosity has taken him across the musical map. His critically acclaimed solo work, emotive voice, and inventive songwriting have earned a devoted following—and continue to win new listeners hungry for bold, imaginative music.

Currently, Adrian’s main focus is on two powerhouse projects: BEAT—an all-star band with Tony Levin, Steve Vai, and Danny Carey (Tool) that reimagines the kinetic ’80s King Crimson era—and Remain in Light, his celebrated show with Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads, honoring and expanding the groundbreaking album with modern energy.

Belew first hit the guitar world’s radar with Frank Zappa, who later said, “Adrian reinvented electric guitar.” His singular tones, expressive whammy-bar work, and adventurous use of effects remain unlike anyone else’s—and they continue to shape how modern guitarists think and play.

For over 30 years, Adrian served as guitarist, songwriter, and frontman for progressive-rock powerhouse King Crimson; his debut with the band, Discipline, is widely cited as essential listening. His solo catalog—from The Lone Rhino and the Atlantic Records hit Mr. Music Head to 20-plus boundary-pushing releases—pairs sonic daring with unwavering musicality.

Adrian can shred with ferocity, then turn around and deliver a melody that breaks your heart. Along the way he’s toured and recorded with David Bowie, Talking Heads, Laurie Anderson, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, and more. He remains, truly, the Twang Bar King.
